2nd Annual Biking the Burbs for Beers (AKA Tour da Heights)

The 2nd running of the Biking the Burbs for Beers bike and bar crawl was a great success-
great weather, great music, great people, great food, great time.

Riders- 24
Non riding participants-4
Total # of crawlers- 28
Mechanical breakdowns- 0
2 minor cycling "incidents"- We have one rider (who shall remain nameless) that may need to complete a safe cycling course before next years ride.

The crawl started out once again in beautiful downtown Flossmoor. A rousing pre ride speech by master of ceremonies Tom D. got the group enthused and ready to ride.

"I hope there are more of these speeches, this is really inspiring."
Thoroughly inspired the group left for Freeh's Again in Old Matteson.
Lincoln Hwy crossing.
First stop Freeh's Again.

After tilting a few at Freeh's the crawl headed down the Old Plank road and Thorn Creek trails through Park Forrest to J' Martin's in Steger.

Next stop J' Martin's in Steger for some fabulous entertainment, plenty of fresh fruit and great service. Many thanks to our hosts Jimmy Martin and Chickie for serving the fresh fruit, arranging for the entertainment and providing top flight service, many thanks from all.

Bob E. Lee, Chuck Sierra and Eric Lee were rockin' the house with an acoustic set of classic rock tunes.
Check them out here-

Joe P, our most experienced rider, and perhaps, our best dancer.

Jimmy serves up an excellent Bloody Mary.

An awesome time at J' Martin's comes to an end. Time for a short ride and lunch at Paulie's Pub in South Heights.

Thanks to Lisa and the staff at Paulie's Pub for a delicious lunch- meatballs, Italian sausage, potato salad and chips.

Next up a ride through historic Chicago Heights to Dino's Food and Liquor, a Flossmoor Baseball sponsor, for some bocce ball and beer.
Walking the bikes down the stairs to the bridge to McEldowney Park.
