BBB is a very informal bike ride through parts of Flossmoor, Chicago Heights, South Chicago Heights and Steger. It’s a chance for family anf friends to get together to enjoy a day of fresh air, activity and conversation. We will ride through several majestic old neighborhoods and give people a chance to see parts of the area that they may not see very often, and for some, areas that they have never seen. We stop at several local establishments to relax and enjoy a drink or two. All of the places we visit are family owned and operated by great people that support their local communities. They’re all old school, if you’re looking for anything new, “upscale” or trendy you will be disappointed. There is no cost for the ride except what you choose to spend of food and drink. A buffet lunch will be available at 3 Star. We only ask that you do not over indulge and please be generous with your servers.
This is a free event except for your beer and food costs- call 708-267-4540 with questions

3rd Annual BBB is set for Saturday September 7th, 10:30 AM

The route is set for BBB III, a total of 14 miles on the road, a little shorter than in the past. We will have a limited amount of BBB tee shirts available for $12.00- cheap. If you want to reserve a tee shirt contact Tom or Mark, or you can leave a comment below.

The route we will take is almost entirely on neighborhood streets with low traffic volume.

The ride will kick off from downtown Flossmoor at 10:30 AM. Please plan on arriving by 10:00-10:15 so we can get off on time.

The first leg of the crawl will be a 2.9 mile ride through Old Flossmoor and Graymoor in Olympia Fields to Dino's Food and Liquors (a proud sponsor of Flossmoor Baseball) on Ashland Avenue in Chicago Heights. Bloody Marys and mimosa's will be available along with a variety of great American beer.

The longest leg of the ride will follow our stop at Dino's. A 4.1 mile ride through the old streets of Chicago Heights will take us to J' Martin's Tap in Steger for some fruit salad and entertainment. Bob E. Lee and the band will once again rock the house with an acoustic set of classic rock tunes.

Next up a short 1.3 mile ride to Paulie's Pub in South Chicago Heights where Lisa and the staff at Paulie's will have a buffet lunch ready- meatballs, Italian sausage, potato salad and chips. The cost of the lunch is $8.00.

The next stop is riders choice. The next scheduled stop will be the old Chicago Heights Country Club for some cocktails on the veranda. However, if there is enough interest from the riders we will make the short ride to 3 Star Liquors on "The Hill" in Chicago Heights. 3 Star is one of the truly historic and iconic establishments in the south suburbs. We will see how we're doing on time and energy.

After the Country Club or 3 Star we will head back to Flossmoor for a night cap. The band Staff Infection will be on the Flossmoor Fest main stage at 5:00.

We are not raising any money, nor dedicating ourselves to any mission nor trying to achieve some personal fitness level.  We just want to see if we can ride a bike and drink some beers.

As always- we encourage moderate drinking and heavy tipping.

2nd Annual Biking the Burbs for Beers (AKA Tour da Heights)

The 2nd running of the Biking the Burbs for Beers bike and bar crawl was a great success-
great weather, great music, great people, great food, great time.

view video here-
Riders- 24
Non riding participants-4
Total # of crawlers- 28
Mechanical breakdowns- 0
2 minor cycling "incidents"- We have one rider (who shall remain nameless) that may need to complete a safe cycling course before next years ride.

The crawl started out once again in beautiful downtown Flossmoor. A rousing pre ride speech by master of ceremonies Tom D. got the group enthused and ready to ride.

"I hope there are more of these speeches, this is really inspiring."
Thoroughly inspired the group left for Freeh's Again in Old Matteson.
Lincoln Hwy crossing.
First stop Freeh's Again.

After tilting a few at Freeh's the crawl headed down the Old Plank road and Thorn Creek trails through Park Forrest to J' Martin's in Steger.

Next stop J' Martin's in Steger for some fabulous entertainment, plenty of fresh fruit and great service. Many thanks to our hosts Jimmy Martin and Chickie for serving the fresh fruit, arranging for the entertainment and providing top flight service, many thanks from all.

Bob E. Lee, Chuck Sierra and Eric Lee were rockin' the house with an acoustic set of classic rock tunes.
Check them out here-

Joe P, our most experienced rider, and perhaps, our best dancer.

Jimmy serves up an excellent Bloody Mary.

An awesome time at J' Martin's comes to an end. Time for a short ride and lunch at Paulie's Pub in South Heights.

Thanks to Lisa and the staff at Paulie's Pub for a delicious lunch- meatballs, Italian sausage, potato salad and chips.

Next up a ride through historic Chicago Heights to Dino's Food and Liquor, a Flossmoor Baseball sponsor, for some bocce ball and beer.
